Website Design – Iteration 3

Here is a more complete look at the design Rob is working with us to develop for our site and other project materials. Please take a look and comment – big and small!

In order, the images represent the (1) home page; (2) home page with animation ON; (3) conference site; (4) research site (icons still being completed); (5) journal/publication site.

  1. David says:

    1. Chronology rather than bibliography on research page.

    2. Shrink intro text box to half of current height, down to one sentence if necessary, and add space/boxes for live feeds directly beneath icons. The impact should be immediate – new, live, etc. The icons will change when hovering, the feeds as new info arrives.

    3. Feed arrangement:
    Conference – Facebook
    Research – Latest (from CMS)
    Journal – Twitter

Twitter stuff is pretty general, could go anywhere, fits well with journal at this point; if we are using Facebook, beyond allowing people to bookmark at the bottom, this is the place for it; Twitter/Facebook can also be connected, but Facebook is I think better suited to the conference as it allows for more conversation – different feel. This arrangement also ensures three live feeds – no static descriptions.

    4. Add linked ‘read more’ at the end of the intro text that will open to a new page continuing with: Project Description; Contributors; Funding.

    5. Select 6 preliminary sections for the journal to even out the bottom banner; they may change later: Articles, Reviews, Stories, Poems, Images, Performance.

    6. Move icons on research page up.

    7. Add search box on every page.
